BusinessB4StyleB4Business Not surprisingly, Kerry began his career in the business and finance world, working for prestigious global corporations across Europe. Armed with his Masters Degree from London School of Economics, one the most prestigious economics programs in the world, he found himself climbing the corporate ladder, yet yearning for an outlet for his creativity and his love of fashion. He carefully plotted his transition, and shocked his colleagues by enrolling in the renowned London College of Fashion. There he learned the ins and outs of trade. Upon receipt of his Postgraduate degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising in 2004, Kerry spent a decade working in all facets of the fashion industry, from financials to brand management to sourcing. Over the years, he has deepened his profound understanding of how trends develop, quality is made, and reputations are earned.
Ever the trailblazer, Kerry founded an online lifestyle magazine, The Lifestyle Exchange, in 2003 to cater to busy, style conscious professionals. He went on to work for his friend, then-emerging UK designer Richard Nicoll from 2004, who later went on to earn numerous industry awards. Later as a personal shopper and fashion consultant for high net worth London executives he further familiarized himself with needs of busy professionals and those in the public glare
Hollywood Calling Yearning for more, Kerry made the hop/skip/jump across the pond, to the West Coast of America. LA was calling, and Kerry quickly enmeshed himself in the highly visual Hollywood lifestyle. From 2008 – 2013, Kerry was an Executive at Macy’s, the largest department store in the US, where he spear-headed their efforts to expand “Macy’s By Appointment services and Corporate Sales” from his office in Beverly Hills. His clients in the studios and agencies were a critical part of this success, where is business acumen, global perspective and innate sense of style served them well. He counts several studios and celebrities as loyal clients. He has styled groups and individuals for the Grammy and Emmy Awards.
Kerry2U Continuing to bask in the California sunshine, Kerry M Mitchell provides style consulting and personal shopping to individuals and corporations and serves as a fashion consultant to several businesses (i.e. indi.com, etc.) He is actively working on his menswear collection — KerryM. and is a Fashion Stylist at Saks Fifth Avenue - The Fifth Avenue Man (Men’s Club) in Beverly Hills.
